I had a great experience with the Allmand law group expecially the staff attorney very experienced.
Get your "bring-back" list up-front!
I was told that a "bring-back" sheet of documents that were needed would be provided to me. I waited two weeks and did not receive the checklist. I called to ask about it and was promised that it'd be sent out immediately by email. I waited another week or so and still had not gotten the list. I called again and the sweet young thing that answered the phone said that she remembered personally sending the list out in the mail only two days before. I waited another week and still hadn't recieved the list (either paper or electronic versions).
Now it was approaching the time for our next scheduled appointment. I called to cancel because I didn't know what to bring to the meeting. I sure didn't want to show up for a meeting and have people just shrug their shoulders and say "Too bad about that, but you didn't bring what we needed to proceed." and be charged $150 for an office visit.
I was promised (again, for the fourth time!) that the "bring-back" list would be sent to me. I said that I'd need that or our next meeting would not be very productive. I was assured that the list would be sent that day. We rescheduled for one week later.
I finally received the promised checklist. It was 24 pages long! If I had been furnished the list at the time of our first meeting I could have been gathering information and documentation in a reasonable manner, rather than twiddling my thumbs waiting on their office. Now, the information will have to be "scrounged-up" in an emergency basis or be billed $150 for rescheduling!
If this is what I have to go through on a simple document request what will it be like going through the actual bankruptcy process?

This company fraudulently withdrew money from my account and then refused to refund the money. I have to file a complaint through my bank to receive the money back. No stars no nothing. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone at any time.

Allmand Law was a part of Allmand and Lee a few years ago. In the process of talking to me, I felt I was not informed as much as I should have been prior to signing paperwork and paying for what I thought was a consultation fee. When finding out that the payment was to file for bankruptcy, I asked them to cancel the filing but the damage had been done. Now 6 years later I'm having trouble trying to get approval for a construction loan, and due to a DENIED bankruptcy on my file. I now am having to go back and forth between Allmand and Lee to see how we can fix this issue.

Personally, I did not understand what “Bankruptcy” was and why this step is like power tools to help us have a fresh start. We are in the situation of negative—paycheck to paycheck, unable to buy our groceries without using a card. I and my husband really tried our best to pay our creditors in a timely manner to have a good credit score and to have a good relationship to our creditors. Unfortunately, some creditors and banks just charged up whatever they want, just to push you to do what you do not want to. My husband contacted your office and set an appointment. While we are sitting in the waiting area, I keep my eye open and observe, and wondering to all peoples reaction. I am nervous and scared.

I panicked and tried to call the attorney, and they refused my calls. Finally, I just appeared at their office. Next, their story was that it was my fault—without explanations. Because in my circumstances a Chapter 13 bankruptcy turned out to be a better option based on my financial situation.
